The Punt Road Cellar Release Pinot Noir is meticulously crafted from the fruit of our venerable Block 1 Napoleone Vineyard, boasting 35 years of grape-growing history, exclusively featuring the revered MV6 Pinot Noir varietal. Our winemaking process is marked by precision and finesse, evident in the deliberate separation of grapes into two distinct ferments.
In one ferment, we embrace 100% whole bunches, imparting a beguiling aromatic complexity and a nuanced, savory structure to the wine. Simultaneously, the second ferment, composed of whole berries, generously contributes luscious fruit notes that elegantly define the palate. Our vigilant oversight during fermentation includes gentle daily pump-overs, ensuring a healthy process and extracting tannins with subtlety.
Following this meticulous fermentation, the wine is thoughtfully aged in a blend of new and seasoned French oak barriques, nurturing its evolution over 12 months in oak.
