'Terre' is a distinctive wine that captures the essence of its unique terroir in Gembrook, the southernmost vineyard in the Yarra Valley, Australia. Grown on a granite outcrop with shallow soil profiles over a seam of granite bedrock, the Pinot Noir grapes used in this wine benefit from optimal conditions during flowering and fruitset, leading to well-balanced yields and concentrated flavors. Hand-picked on the 5th of March, the grapes undergo careful vinification, including fermentation with 60% whole bunches and aging in French oak barrels. The resulting wine offers a complex aroma profile of cranberries, red earth, iron, mountain herbs, and spices. On the palate, it showcases fine texture, cherry-based fruit flavors, emery board tannins, gentle acidity, and an abundance of earthy, mineral, and woodsy spice notes. With its contemplative nature and the promise of further development, 'Terre' represents a true expression of its terroir and the meticulous craftsmanship of the winemakers.
